Replicant is a Chicago-based industrial/darkwave band that blends darkwave, post-punk, coldwave, industrial rock, EBM, and retro synth music into a cinematic, dystopian sound. Drawing inspiration from the darker side of 1980s alternative music while using modern production techniques, the band has become a notable name in the contemporary American darkwave revival. Originally formed as a studio project, Replicant evolved into a full band featuring Garrett Vernon (vocals, guitars, synthesizers), Justin DeLay (synthesizers, drum programming, production), and Jordan DeLay (bass). Their music combines driving electronic rhythms, atmospheric synthesizers, distorted guitars, and emotionally charged vocals, creating a sound that recalls artists such as Clan of Xymox, The Sisters of Mercy, and Nine Inch Nails while maintaining its own identity.
