Listen to Mind Over Matter (Hugh Hardie Remix): https://ruthroyall.ffm.to/momremix We keep the train rolling on the ‘10 Years of Soulvent Records’ Remix LP with a remix from the audio wizard that is Hugh Hardie. We’re immensely proud to have released the majority of Hugh’s output over the last few years, including the Darkstar EP and the Juicebox LP. We felt it right for him to turn his talents to one of our all time favourite releases in the back catalogue - the Colours EP from Ruth Royall, released in 2021. ‘Mind Over Matter’ is the selected track for the remix treatment this time after ‘New Love’ had the remix treatment from fellow Cantabrigan Logistics in 2022 as part of ‘Soulvent The remix opens with vintage Hugh Hardie high energy drums and playful strings before songstress Ruth comes in with her powerful lyrics telling us that brainpower prevails in the face of adversity. Produced by stateside brothers, Blacklab, the original featured some seriously impressive bass work and the remix is no different. The bassline pairs perfectly with the array of guitars on offer here both lead and bass. Give into your urges and secure the 3rd single from the ‘10 Years of Soulvent Remix’ LP, manifesting its way into all good stores on Friday 3rd July.
